Dixie National Forest is a United States National Forest in Utah with headquarters in Cedar City. It occupies almost two million acres (8,000 km²) and stretches for about 170 miles (270 km) across southern Utah.

Welcome to the Dixie National Livestock Show and Rodeo! Each February, cowboys, cowgirls, 4-H and FFA members, rodeo queens and spectators travel from around the world to the Mississippi State Fairgrounds to experience the largest rodeo east of the Mississippi River.

Since the St. George area was warm like the deep south, they started calling it Utah's "Dixie". The name stuck because of the heat and all the southerners that settled there to grow cotton for the Mormon church.

The westernmost area of the Dixie National Forest is dominated by the Pine Valley Mountains that rise to over 10,000 feet a few miles north of St George.
